Joseph Haydn  : Duets for violin and viola (Hoboken VI)
Wolfang Amadeus Mozart  : Duets for violin and viola (K.323 and K.324)
Johannes Wenzeslas Kalliwoda :
Duet op.208

François-Xavier Laguette :
First violin in the "Orchestre symphonique de Vendée" and "Ensemble Orchestral du Val de Loire".
Benoit Bouyer : Viola soloist in the "Orchestre symphonique de Vendée". He is a member of the string quintet Internotes and of the baroque ensemble Galatée.

The Haydn duets were written in the years 1767-1768. They present the form of theme with variations. The violin plays as a soloist whereas the viola functions as accompaniment.
The Mozart duets were composed to assist Michel Haydn who was not able to complete them, because of his illness. Here both instruments play at the same level with a remarkable extent in sonority.
Johannes Kalliwoda is a Czech musician in the 19th century; he has composed more than 450 works, from chamber music to operas.
