Les Chants du Signe
The mediaeval songs from Occitania and the musics from Asia and Middle East meet in this performance where music and calligraphy are put together. Perfect illustration of relationships which emerged in the mediaeval mediterranean world, the "Chants du Signe" mixes texts of troubadours and oriental poetry.
A founder of the Rosa Salvatja Ensemble, Maurice Moncozet , singer and poly-instrumentalist, explores the mediaeval music repertoires.
Passionately fond of musics of the world, Fady Zakar gets his inspiration in traditions from India, Central Asia, Middle East and Western Africa, thus creating his own language.
Ahmed Al Mansi terminates visually the performance in bringing samples of his Moroccan calligraphy. A videocamera films and projects his graphisms, in keeping with the sounds produced by the musicians.
