Joseph Haydn : Quartet in C major opus 50 n°5
Ludwig van Beethoven : Quartet in E flat opus 59 n°2
Franz Schubert : Quartet in A flat n°13 Rosamunde
The Raphaël Quartet brings together four young musicians, among the most promising of their generation, who share the same passion for chamber music and the string quartet repertoire. Only a few months after its creation the Raphaël Quartet was a veritable revelation at the 2010 international Bordeaux string quartet competition, where it was awarded the second prize. The Raphael Quartet concentrates on the classical and romantic repertoire, as well as seeking new works through collaboration with contemporary.
The Haydn quartet is one of the “Prussian quartets” dedicated to Frederick-William of Prussia. The Beethoven “Razumowski” quartet is marked by a deep lyricism. The name of the Schubert quartet comes from the ballet music for “Rosamonde”, a theme of which can be found in the second movement.
Pierre Fouchenneret & Pablo Schatzman : violins | Arnaud Thorette : alto | Maja Bogdanovic : cello
